What did you do in school today??

Have you ever asked your son/daughter this question and they say "nothing" or "just played". Well what they don't know is that while they are playing they are learning. So incase that is the answer you get from your son/daughter take a look below to see some their "nothing" or "just played" going on.

building, building and building more!!!!!!

This year my students are very much into building. Sometimes they use the instruction booklet and try to recreate a structure they like or they just start building and use their imagination. We have many different types of block but these are a few of the favorites. The bonus is that they are also working their fine motor skill. When the students and teacher are happy its a good thing!!!

so into her creation she even has to stand up.

cars and trains are always popular

in the creation process

"teacher look at this"

Always proud of their creations and want to show me

snow fun...

Finally some of the Preschool students were able to get outside and play in the snow. They were so excited. I was full of smiles as I watched them run, fall, roll and scream. The time went by fast but we managed to find time for a selfie.

Is that Santa????

On Friday December 15th as the 4year old students were enjoying free choice we heard some jingle bells. A few minutes later we saw Santa walk into our classroom. Later we saw him in the hallway and asked if we could take a picture with him. After the picture was taken I noticed how sweet that we have baby Jesus and Santa in the picture.

How do your prepare for CHRISTmas

Mrs. Engelhardt her daughters Audrey and Valerie with Mrs. Engelhardt's father-in-law.
I was common folk, Audrey was a wait, Valerie was the sprite and common folk.. My father-in-law sings in the choir.
My daughter Valerie as the Sprite in Boars Head
Here at Bethlehem we just finished up with the Boars Head performances. It brings such joy to my heart to be a part of this performance. When I look out and see so many people in the audience I know that we are sharing such a wonderful and important message.

In the classroom we are preparing for CHRISTmas by talking about what the most important gift of all is......JESUS!!!!
We have talked about how exciting it is to see all the presents and wake up and see if Santa came but with all the excitement we still need to remember that it's baby JESUS birthday. We learned about the Savior being born in a manger and  will continue to learn about how the the good news of the birth of the savior was spread.

At my own home we have also began to prepare for the CHRISTmas. The CHRISTmas tree is up and decorations will soon be added. Stockings are hanging from the fireplace and other decorations are throughout the house. With all the craziness with decorating, shopping and holiday parties my husband and I really try to put the focus on the birth of Jesus, which can be hard with little children. One thing we do is to have a little cupcake or some special treat and we put a candle in it and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus.
